- Performs assigned nursing procedures that pertain to the comfort and well-being of patients.
- Responds to patient crisis situations and initiates interventions within the scope of responsibilities and notifies RN.
- Performs venipuncture and finger sticks on patients, following all standard laboratory safety policies.
- Performs essential unit specific tasks under the direction of RN, e.g. EKGs, height and weight measurements.
- Reviews orders placed for patient testing and sends lab specimens using PowerChart system.
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Previous work experience or completion of Patient Care Technician and/or Phlebotomist programs.
- This position is for 72 hours per pay period.
- You may work 8 or 12 hour shifts or combinations of those shifts.
- Schedules may include 11a-11p and 3p - 11p
- There are weekend and holiday requirements per department and hospital practice.
