    The Role

    We are seeking a highly motivated candidate to lead a dynamic team in the exciting area of Battery Cell engineering.

    The Battery Cell EGM will lead a team responsible for hardware design and release focused on Lithium Ion Battery Cells of varying chemistries.

    This will involve all areas of the battery cell from raw materials sourcing, cathodes, anodes, and electrolyte development, integration into the overall battery pack, evaluating cost reduction opportunities, and ensuring quality scalability.

    This role is within our Global Electrification and Battery Systems (GEBS) organization, and we are creating groundbreaking battery technologies that provide industry leading performance for current and future GM Vehicles.

    What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
    Oversee all activities related to high voltage battery cell design and release

    Work closely with our GM internal customers within the product engineering community including Advanced Engineering, Wallace Battery Cell Innovation Center, Ultium Cells, and our Battery Assembly Plants

    Lead the team in developing strategies for obtaining and characterizing raw materials

    Lead a team that is responsible for cell component verification and validation internally, with suppliers or third party.

    Lead a team that creates, designs and releases cell component designs

    Provide leadership to ensure excellence in all aspects of GM and supplier engineering

    Recruit, attract and hire top talent

    Train, develop, coach, and mentor employees

    Provide clear line of sight from organizational objectives to individual contributions; direct and prioritize work accordingly

    Create an environment that fosters a positive and inclusive culture and encourages individuals to achieve their peak performance and engagement
