General Purpose of Job:

Working with the Respiratory Therapy Manager, Lead Therapist, and staff; performs departmental equipment/supply cleaning, disinfection, and preparation for reuse.

Maintains all supply/equipment inventory and par counts throughout the hospital. Also responsible to assists with the maintenance of bulk supply and medical gas inventory.

Maintains utmost level of confidentiality at all times.
Adheres to hospital policies and procedures.
Demonstrates business practices and personal actions that are ethical and adhere to corporate compliance and integrity guidelines.
Picks up discontinued equipment from all patient care areas.
Disassembles, cleans, and disinfects all soiled reusable supplies and equipment.
Reassembles and prepares equipment for reuse.
Delivers ventilator and related equipment to critical care storage areas and maintains inventory of essential stock.
Delivers supplies and equipment to requesting area.
Maintains medical gas inventory.
Maintains supply bins of disposable equipment.
Changes disinfecting solution.
Disinfects cleaning area.
Assists with department Continuous Quality Improvement and Infection Control Plans.
Orders cleaning and disinfecting supplies.
Forwards disposable and reusable supplies and equipment replacement list to RT manager for review and ordering.
Assists with bulk supply and equipment inventory control.
Monitors equipment electrical safety labels and forwards required items to Biomed Department.
Identifies defective equipment and forwards to RT manager or Director for evaluation prior to requesting repairs.
Assists with disposable supplies, reusable supplies, and equipment inventory.


Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
Experience in medical equipment and supplies preferred


Certificates, Licensure, Registration:
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers through the American Heart Association prior to hire
