    JOB SUMMARY:


    •Demonstrates a sound knowledge base in cardiology, adhering to and following the appropriate cardiac sonography standards of care.


    •Demonstrates efficient utilization of products, supplies, equipment, financial resources and time to promote the cost-effective use of hospital resources.


    •Performs responsibilities in a manner which supports the Standards of Behavior.


    •Adheres to established safety and risk management activities in the performance of all duties in order to ensure a safe working environment.


    •Demonstrates the ability to perform accurate scans, provide documentation to such and has recognized and reported necessary changes.


    •Demonstrates ability to prioritize and organize patient testing by completing assignments efficiently/effectively and demonstrating flexibility in assignments. No issues of concern regarding organization and prioritization abilities as determined by the Director and evidence of minimal overtime without patterns or trends.


    •Demonstrates competency in scan technique.


    •Utilizes sound decision making and resolution skills in the handling of patient issues/concerns.


    •Actively participates in hospital performance improvement and quality by design initiatives, as evidenced by documentation in minutes.


    •Demonstrates professional behavior by awareness of personal responsibilities and accountability for professional practice and self growth.


    •Attends all required in-services/seminars as outlined by the department in the designated timeframe within a minimum of 6 hours per year. Obtains a minimum of 6 additional in-service hours of own time, may include formal coursework or certification.


    •Completes competencies for age specific patient population in a timely manner.


    •Adheres to dress code without infractions.

    EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited program in cardiac sonography, or 2 years on the job training supervised by a physician. Registry status preferred.

    EXPERIENCE: One year hospital experience preferred.
