Job Title: Accounts Payable Specialist
Department: Finance / Accounting
Reports To: Accounting Manager
Location: Office Avon, OH
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Position Summary
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, expense reports, and payment transactions. This role ensures compliance with company policies, internal controls, and vendor agreements while supporting month-end close and financial reporting processes.
Key Responsibilities
Invoice Processing
· Review, code, and process vendor invoices in accordance with company policy.
· Match purchase orders, receiving documents, and invoices (3-way match).
· Verify pricing, terms, and approvals prior to payment.
· Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
· Maintain payment schedules to optimize cash flow and avoid late fees.
· Reconcile vendor statements and investigate outstanding items.
Required Qualifications
· 2–4+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
· High level of integrity and discretion with financial information.
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, goal-oriented work environment while setting priorities and managing to deadlines
· Possess good communication and teamwork skills to effectively work with AP team, Customer Service team and external vendors
· Proficient with basic Microsoft Excel skills
· Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience working in a PE-backed, high-growth, or transaction-oriented environment
· Familiarity with NetSuite, financial systems
- Experience in distribution, or service-based environment a plus.
