    JOB DESCRIPTION :

    The Cameron University Sports Information office is accepting applications for a graduate assistant to assist with media and public relations efforts for the University's 11 intercollegiate varsity sports. Located in Lawton, Oklahoma, Cameron is a member of NCAA Division II and the Lone Star Conference.

    Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • The Graduate Assistant will serve as primary media contact for assigned sports, as well as assisting with various aspects of all Cameron University home athletic events. Additional responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: writing and editing of press releases, serving as statistician for various Cameron home athletic events, updating and maintaining the Cameron Athletics website, , maintaining social media platforms for all sports, serving as website coordinator, and creating promotional materials. Additional responsibilities will include video/photo content for the website.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. Applicants must have a bachelor's degree, preferably in journalism, graphic design, communications, broadcast communications or sports administration, as well as outstanding writing, communication and interpersonal skills. Previous experience in StatCrew software is required with emphasis in volleyball and basketball stat programs. Preference will be given to those candidates who have worked in a collegiate athletic media relations office as a student or other capacity.
    2. Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Adobe Illustrator are strongly preferred, as well as knowledge of updating and managing Sidearm platform websites. This position requires extensive night, weekend and holiday hours. Some travel required.

      SALARY RANGE:

      $2,000 stipend + tuition (up to nine semester hours for four semesters) and fees (mandatory fees only; special and online fees not included) + housing (single-room) waiver
