    Description

    The responsibilities of a Construction Manager Trainee are to assist the Construction Manager as needed as well as manage all warranty service assigned. They are also responsible maintaining job site adherence with Chesmar Homes standards, while completing the assigned training program in a timely manner.
    • Ensure that jobsites are maintained to Chesmar Homes standards.
      • Job sites are kept clean, proper jobsite signage, proper access to the homes, driveway barricades in place, etc.
    • Secure company property daily and protect it from theft, damage, and vandalism.
      • Unlock all homes in the morning, close all windows and lock all homes at the end of the day.
    • Conduct weekly OSHA Safety inspections and maintain necessary documentation in OSHA manual.
    • Attend scheduled meetings with homebuyers (Pre-construction, Pre-drywall, Pre-settlement, Final sign-off, 30-day Warranty Orientation), and learn how to set proper expectations for build process, timing, quality control, communication, and warranty.
    • Attend weekly community team meetings with CM & NHC.
    • Attend monthly construction meetings, and training classes as scheduled.
    • Ensure all assigned warranty requests are completed in a timely manner, and to Chesmar Homes quality standards.
    • Follow assigned training schedule and complete training in timely manner.
    • Shadow the CM to learn all aspects of the Construction Manager position.
    • Once training requirements are complete, be assigned to carry 1-5 homes under construction (depending on community level) with assistance from the Construction Manager.
    Qualifications
    • Proficient with standard software such as Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
    • Working knowledge of current technology such as smart phones and laptop computers.
    • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and communication skills.
    • Maintain proper and professional etiquette and appearance.
    • Strong attention to detail and strong sense of urgency.
    • Strong capacity for multi-tasking.
    • Excellent time management skills, capacity to prioritize and delegate tasks.
    Must have valid driver's license, dependable vehicle, and successfully pass a background check.
