    We are seeking a full-time Work Based Learning Coordinator to join our team.


    PRIMARY OBJECTIVE


    The Work Based Learning Coordinator (WBLC) for the PTA program will work collaboratively with the Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education (ACCE) to maintain and grow the clinical education aspect of PTA program.

    The role will ensure that the program and students remain in compliance with clinical education requirements (e.g. student medical requirements, ensuring contracts remain current). The WBLC will work closely with clinical education partners (sites).

    It is expected that the WBLC will deploy strategies to maintain current clinical partners and additionally obtain and develop new clinical partnerships.

    The WBLC will utilize marketing skills to promote the PTA Program in the community and develop and lead initiatives that give back to our clinical partners (e.g. continuing education programming) and drive innovation in PTA Clinical Education.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Functions as a liaison between clinical affiliates, PTA faculty, and administrators to ensure a high level of quality in students' learning experience during the clinical education component of the curriculum.
    • Works collaboratively with PTA faculty, the Director-Work Based Learning & Education, and clinical site administrators to provide clinical rotations that meet students' learning objectives.
    • Maintains student health records; reviews required health and safety documents, including vaccination and drug screening records, to ensure they are current and in compliance with the nursing program and clinical agency requirements.
    • Facilitates clinical placements which allow students to experience the depth and breadth of practice needed to meet the requirements of entry-level practice as a PTA.
    • Coordinates the gathering of agency-specific documentation (i.e. background checks, Healthcare BLS certification) necessary for student placement at clinical agency sites.
    • Provide faculty with required site-specific orientation materials and schedules for faculty and/or student orientation.
    • Ensures students complete clinical orientation requirements and attend clinical agency-specific orientation prior to all clinical rotations.
    • Serves as a liaison between the clinical agency and PTA program to ensure orientation requirements are met.
    • Maintains records of clinical placement and students' completion of clinical requirements and compliance with the program's curriculum requirements.
    • Conducts clinical site visits to assess the appropriateness of clinical activities and students' clinical practice experiences.
    • Collects data and prepares reports on clinical sites for inclusion in accreditation, grants, and related reports.
    • Evaluates current and potential clinical education sites through qualitative and quantitative analysis.
    • Strictly adheres to HIPPA and FERPA regulations.
    • Performs administrative duties as assigned in support of the PTA Program.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Current licensure as a Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of IL.
    • Three (3) years of industry experience.
    • Clinical practice that includes experience as a site coordinator of clinical education (SCCE) or clinical instructor (CI) in physical therapy will be given preference.
