    Primary Purpose
    Responsible for market, and operational risk management of the Commercial Optimization Team (CO). Mentor and provide training to team members across the CO. Lead the design and implementation of the group's risk management framework, processes and systems. As an integral member of the Risk Management team covering all areas of risk management, including employee development, conflict resolution, strategy development, compliance, etc.

    Duties and Responsibilities
    • Participates in the implementation the risk mandate (i.e., risk limits), position and P L (also P L attributes) reporting, and other risk metrics (e.g. VaR).
    • Works closely with the front office (traders and schedulers) on the hedging/trading strategies, risk monitoring, and risk reporting.
    • Manages the Commercial Operations financial performance forecasting.
    • Provides quality control review for reporting and modeling prepared by others in the Risk and Structuring group.
    • Leads the design of risk management systems and processes.
    • Provides reports and presentations to other leaders within the company up to and including Sr. executives.
    • Works with IT, Back Office, Credit, Traders and Schedulers to resolve issues that arise from time to time.
    • Ensures all transactions are properly valued and captured in the ETRM system.
    • Advises and verifies the modeling of transactions, including specific complex non-standard transactions.
    • Provides guidance and mentoring to other people in the Team.
    • Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics Finance, Economics, IT (Business Applications) or related field from a top tier program.
    • 10 years of extensive experience in the front, middle, or back office of a commodity/energy trading organization or related experience.
    • Experience with Endur and Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
    • Strong theoretical orientation, ability to apply understanding of abstract theory in a focused, practical manner to develop and implement effective solutions to real world problems.
    • Must also be a team player, comfortable with multitasking and responding rapidly to frequent changes.
    • Ability to effectively lead a project team of individuals from different business groups/functions.
    • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.
    • Strong understanding of internal controls.
    • Ability to see the big picture without missing details and communicate in a clear and concise manner.
    • Ability to effectively manage staff and develop staff for greater roles within the company.
    • Working knowledge of commodities markets (especially natural gas) and common finance/risk management practices.
    • Ability to quickly familiarize oneself with industry fundamentals.
    • Ability to organize thoughts and clearly explain work to others orally and in writing.
    • Ability to interact with all levels of management in a professional and team-building manner.
    • Must be organized and able to meet deadlines.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Advanced degree.
    • Experience working in trading, as structuring or quantitative analysis experience in energy or financial markets.Energy or commodity industry experience strongly preferred.
    • Experience in Monte-Carlo simulations and volatility/correlation estimations, handling extensive data/database, and working knowledge of SQL, and VBA.
