- Manage and maintain accurate financial records tailored to the needs of their non-profit, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure the accuracy of financial transactions, tracking donations, grants, and expenses associated with their non-profit activities.
- Prepare and process payroll, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations specific to non-profit organizations.
- Generate financial reports that align with non-profit accounting standards, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Monitor and manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting to support sound financial decision-making within the non-profit sector.
- Collaborate with external auditors and tax professionals during year-end audits and tax filings related to non-profit financial reporting.
- Assist in developing and implementing financial policies and procedures specific to non-profit operations, maintaining financial integrity in support of their mission.
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper in a non-profit organization or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, with a focus on non-profit accounting standards and regulations.
- Proficiency in bookkeeping software tailored to non-profit needs and MS Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, critical for managing non-profit finances.
