    Job Description:
    The School of Art at LSU invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in the area of Painting & Drawing.

    We seek applicants who demonstrate a clear commitment to painting in the 21st century, possessing a broad knowledge of the field (material, technique, form, and content), have the ability to engage our students with contemporary, historical, and conceptual issues and teach various approaches to painting and drawing from perceptual to conceptual.

    Familiarity with contemporary art and design discourse, along with the potential for exceptional research, excellence in teaching, and active creative practice are necessary. Candidates will teach both beginning and advanced undergraduate, as well as, graduate courses and seminars.

    The School of Art is committed to building an intellectually vibrant, culturally inclusive, and academically diverse community of exceptional faculty. Applicants must have received their MFA or PhD (earned by August 1, 2024).

    Job Responsibilities

    Teaching (50%) -- Teach relevant courses for the School of Art in undergraduate and/or graduate programs.
    Research (35%) -- Research and scholarly activity
    Service (15%) -- Other contributions to the department, the university, the academic profession, or the broader community that support the primary missions of scholarship and teaching.
    Minimum Qualifications

    Masters in Fine Art
