    Director of Engineering

    We are seeking a Director of Engineering to oversee all engineering functions at WZTV/WUXP.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Plan and implement future equipment installations, budgets, and requirements.
    • Manage Master Control Operators and ensure they operate within regulatory guidelines.
    • Develop and execute training programs for engineering staff and manage hiring processes.
    • Supervise maintenance of computer software, hardware, and local area network applications.
    • Evaluate and update software licenses to ensure compliance.
    • Maintain broadcast electronic equipment, including cameras, audio/video equipment, transmitters, receivers, and computing equipment.
    • Perform transmitter maintenance and ensure security and FCC compliance.

    Requirements:

    • Minimum 5 years of experience in broadcast electrical system and equipment maintenance.
    • 1 year of management experience with a focus on technician training and development.
    • Excellent troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance skills for broadcast equipment and IT systems.
    • Dedication to quality, time management, and upholding FCC regulations.
    • Valid driver's license and flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and extended hours.
    • Ability to work at heights, stand for long periods, and lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs).
    • Technical degree in electronics or related field, or equivalent work and educational experience.
    • SBE certification and A+ certification preferred.
