    As the Associate Chief Medical Officer, (ACMO) for Swope Health, you will be a critical part of our patient-centered healthcare staff and senior leadership team. In partnership with the Chief Health Officer, the ACMO will function as the clinical leader for Swope Health (SH). He/she will be responsible for recommending changes and enhancements to clinical criteria based on extensive knowledge in health care delivery systems, utilization methods, reimbursement methods and treatment protocols.     Primary Responsibilities:

    • Counsels and discusses clinically related issues with providers as directed by CHO.
    • Recommends areas of potential improvements in patient care to SH Leadership.
    • Affect beneficial changes in policies and procedures.
    • Assists in the development and delivery of orientation programs, health education and continuing education for clinical staff.
    • Designs and implements protocols for quality management.
    • Assists in the supervision of medical audits and review of physician's practice patterns to assure adherence to quality standards and utilization criteria.
    • Conveys medical staff concerns to SH Leadership, the SH Boards of Directors and Board Committees as appropriate.
    • Assists in assuring compliance with peer reviews and accreditation with outside agencies.
    • Assist with EHR training and be part of the medical informatics committee.
    • Perform direct patient care for minimum of 60% or as directed by the CHO.
    • Setup comprehensive multidisciplinary care to complex disease management processes.
    • Ensures that all providers comply with applicable local, state, and federalregulations, and all policies, procedures and directives of the organization and contracted third party payers.
    • Responds to patient/physician complaints and educates regarding SH's plans and policies as needed.
    • Provides medical information as it relates to policy decisions for member appeals procedure.
    • Support community and public relations functions in the absence of the CHO.
    • Performs other clinical assignments as requested by the Chief Health Officer.

    Successful candidates will have:

    • Doctor of Medicine, licensed in the States of Missouri and Kansas, M.D. or D. O. Board Certification preferred.
    • Successful completion of accredited primary care residency program-Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Obstetrics/Gynecology.

    Experience Required 3-5 years: 3-5 years:
