Job Type Full-timeDescriptionOVERVIEWCadrex is searching for a Spot-Welding Operator to join, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESIgnites torches or starts power supplies and strikes arcs by torching metals being welded to complete electrical circuitsPrograms the equipment and changes tipsClamps, holds, grinds, or bolts components parts to obtain the required configuration for weldingExamines work pieces for defects and measures work pieces to ensure conformance with specifications Detects faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notifies supervisorPositions parts in specified locations using a variety of fastening devices and/or other sub-components Determines the appropriate tools and equipment required for the job Uses disc grinder to smooth out, weld or grind part prior to weldingRepairs broken or cracked parts and prepares surfaces Operates lift equipment as needed Uses precision measuring tools as requiredMaintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulationsCompletes all necessary paperwork as required, including in process or carbon copy production sheets RequirementsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS1+ years' experience in a high-volume manufacturing setting preferred Use welding fixtures and jigs?
