    Description

    Oversees all Port Authority of Allegheny County d/b/a Pittsburgh Regional Transit (PRT) revenue service in an effort to ensure safety, reliability, and on-time performance. Directs and supervises the Assistant Managers of Road Operations, Road Operations Supervisors, Movement Directors, and Traffic Dispatchers ensuring that these groups have all the resources required to perform their daily job duties.

    Essential Functions:

    Job requirements include:

    • andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp; High school diploma or GED.
    • andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp; Bachelor's degree in transportation, business administration, public administration or related field from an accredited college or university. Related experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis. .
    • andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp; Minimum five (5) years transit experience with three (3) years transit supervisor experience.
    • andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp; Willingness and ability to respond to 24-hour emergency calls.
    • andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp; Effective and professional communication skills.
    • andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp; Thorough knowledge of PRT service area.
    • andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp; Thorough knowledge of Western Pennsylvania highway, road, street, rail, and waterway networks.
    • andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp; Demonstrated ability in the use of Windows.
    • andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp; Customer focused.
    • andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp;andnbsp; Valid Commercial Driver's Class B License with a "P" endorsement.andnbsp;
    This is a Safety Sensitive position subject to all testing provisions under the Drug and Alcohol Policy, including random drug and alcohol testing. The person selected for this position may be required to be tested prior to being awarded the job.

    Preferred Attributes:

    Minimum of three (3) years' experience as a Bus or Light Rail Operator; or two (2) years' experience in one of the following positions within Bus or Road Operations: Route Foreman; Bus Instructor; Traffic Dispatcher.
