Responsible for accurately validating, analyzing and auditing accounting/operational transactions and activity in
business area: Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Resale, Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Not for
Resale, Retail/DC Ops, Non-Store Cash & Org Charges E-comm. Role will be responsible for all aspects of assigned
revenue and receivable accounts to include:
Timely and accurate invoice preparation and/or invoice authorization
Preparation of general ledger entries
Difficult account reconciliations
Preparation of standard and adhoc reports
In-depth account analysis and response to P&L/Balance Sheet questions
Process documentation and process improvement
May perform one or more Sarbanes-Oxley audit controls
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare journal entries and general ledger operations.
Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts. Perform reconciliations for balance sheet and profit and loss
accounts.
Analyzes general ledger accounts for accuracy; analyzes accrual accounts to ensure proper accruals. Maintain
correct general ledger balances for assigned accounts.
Assist with monthly closing and preparation of monthly financial statements.
Support quarterly and year-end closings and preparation for annual audit.
Assists with the preparation of annual budgets, updates, and strategic plans for assigned areas.
Conducts research, performs analysis and prepares financial reports as requested.
Monitors compliance of the Accounts Receivable approval policies for invoice, credit memo, and payback
transactions.
Maintains policy and procedures for assigned
processes.
Partners with Category Management, Supply Chain, Retail Services, Banking, Information Technology, and
other internal and external business partners to identify and resolve business issues.
Assists on projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in accounting or related field or 2-3 years of high-volume Accounts Receivable or
Accounting experience in a fast-paced shared services dynamic environment
Demonstrated understanding of accounting theories, methodologies, principles and practices, and the impact
of departmental transactions to the financial statements
Knowledge of credit and collections techniques, revenue recognition rules, and general accounting
requirements
Experience with account analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
Experience with or ability to use query tools for reporting
Accurate and detail-oriented with excellent follow through skills
Solid oral and written communication skills; able to confidently and effectively communicate with both
internal and external business partners
Vendor relations experience
Solid analytical skills
Ability to sustain high level of confidentiality
Solid customer service skills
Solid organizational skills, ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently
