- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in environmental health & safety, occupational safety, industrial hygiene, construction safety, and/or hazardous waste management.
- Previous healthcare experience is highly desirable.
- Preferred certification as a Certified Healthcare Safety Professional.
- Preferred OSHA HAZWOPER certification (40-hour).
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering a strong occupational safety culture.
- Hands-on experience in physical plant operations and conducting work area hazard assessments/job hazard analyses.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Flexibility to support projects and initiatives beyond regular work hours.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and email.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting RRMC's occupational safety and environmental compliance initiatives. This role involves conducting inspections, monitoring activities, maintaining records, and providing training. The primary focus is on ensuring the safety of employees and environmental health, with a secondary emphasis on the Environment of Care (EC) and Life Safety (LS).
