    Avesta Housing is seeking a Personal Support Specialist (PSS) to work at our assisted living facility, 75 State Street.

    The role of a PSS is to provide high quality care to the residents of the facility that include personal care, assistance with activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living.

    Located in the historic West End neighborhood of Portland, Maine, 75 State Street is a nonprofit senior community offering a continuum of care that includes Independent Living and Assisted Living.

    What We're Looking For
    The person who is ready for this opportunity will have 1 or more years' experience working within a similar role and meet the following requirements:

    Excellent judgment
    Caring attitude
    Detail oriented
    Good communications skills
    Strong interpersonal skills

    A Valid PSS license
    Experience working with residents in a personal care environment preferred.
    A Valid CPR certification or ability to obtain within one year
    Ability to meet facility and state immunization requirements.
    Commitment to quality services and treating residents with dignity and respect.

    Good written and oral communication skills and ability to communicate effectively to residents, family, staff, and outside facilities and vendors.

    Ability to work effectively with others and portray a positive, team-player attitude.
    Must be at least 18 years or older.

    This is a non-exempt/hourly position that pays $ $19.00 per hour, plus any applicable shift differentials.

    Both day shift and evening shift schedules are available

    Day Shift:
    6:30am - 3:00pm


    Evening Shift:
    2:30pm - 11:00pm
