    Description

    SUMMARY:


    The OCC Operator Lead is responsible for monitoring the processes and machine regularly at the wet end of the stock-making process as well as oversight of the OCC warehouse and OCC processes in the absence of the Day Shift Supervisor.


    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Interface with relieving shift of any issues during the last shift
    • Generate reports/printouts and conduct rounds to inspect the OCC warehouse and processes.
    • Operate the machine in accordance with the product being produced
    • Conduct daily team huddles to review pertinent information, safety issues, and production metrics.
    • Complete proper daily turnover from Shift Lead/Day Shift Supervisor upon start of shift
    • File minor incident/damage reports and take appropriate action to ensure the incident does not repeat.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for resources when the Day Shift Supervisor is unavailable (nights and weekends).
    • Execute the daily management system and routine, including coaching respective crews, ensuring Operator Basic Care (OBC) rounds are conducted, prepared, and documented properly, and facilitating daily shift huddles and handovers in the absence of the Day Shift Supervisor
    • Address issues and/or concerns with co-workers and management
    • Fill in for Day Shift Supervisor as needed
    • Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures. Promote safety with coworkers and team.
    • Assist crew members and work in a team environment. Assist in training new operators.
    • Special projects and assignments as business dictates.
    • Responsible for the maintenance, creation, and control of all personally identifiable information or any other information protected by any Confidentiality or Privacy Standards or Company Policies that you have access or knowledge of, including but not limited to any state or federal regulations including HIPPA.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Good computer skills, problem-solving skills, and mechanical skills
    • Ability to use common hand tools
    • Basic mathematical skills (addition/subtraction, multiplication/division)
    • At least 1-year manufacturing experience preferred
    • Able to communicate with all team members and adhere to safety and adhere to safety regulations
    • Must be a team player, organized, and detail-oriented
    • Ability to multi-task in an environment with frequent changing priorities
    • Ability to operate a fork truck, clamp truck, and/or bobcat
    • Able to meet company quality and performance standards for the job as specified.
    • Able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    • The employee is frequently required to talk or hear
    • The employee is required to reach with hands and arms
    • The employee must regularly push/pull/lift 40 pounds unassisted and occasionally more with assistance
    • Specific vision abilities for this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth vision

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    • Able to work in hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environments.
    • Willingness and ability to wear safety glasses, earplugs, hard hat, steel-toed boots, and any other required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
