Mignonne Gavigan is seeking a highly experienced Director of Production to lead end-to-end jewelry production and operational execution across all categories.
This is a senior-level role responsible for factory management, WIP oversight, system integrity, margin protection, and on-time delivery across DTC and wholesale channels. This is a critical leadership role for a growing luxury jewelry brand. We are seeking someone who thrives in both systems and factory relationships and who understands that production precision protects margin.
The Director of Production will ensure the product is developed, produced, tracked, and delivered on time and within margin targets, while maintaining best-in-class factory relationships. Must know and be an expert in system integrations across ApparelMagic, QuickBooks, JOOR, Shopify, and our 3PL.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Factory Management
- Own full production lifecycle from development through bulk delivery
- Manage domestic and international factory relationships
- Negotiate pricing, MOQs, lead times, and payment terms
- Ensure production stays within margin targets
- Oversee sampling, approvals, and bulk execution
- Troubleshoot delays and quality issues
WIP & Calendar Ownership
- Maintain and manage comprehensive WIP reporting
- Track all open POs from development through delivery
- Monitor raw materials and component flow
- Own production calendar and milestone tracking
- Proactively flag delivery risks
Systems & Operational Execution
- Expert-level management of ApparelMagic (ERP, POs, costing, inventory)
- Reconcile production invoices in QuickBooks
- Oversee JOOR wholesale order flow and PO sync
- Manage Shopify SKU setup and inventory sync
- Ensure 3PL integration accuracy and ASN documentation
- Maintain cost sheets and landed cost accuracy
Margin & Cost Control
- Build and manage detailed cost sheets
- Analyze landed margin by style
- Flag margin risk prior to production commitment
- Partner with Finance on COGS accuracy
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner with Design on feasibility and costing
- Align with Sales on wholesale delivery timelines
- Coordinate with Ecommerce for launch readiness
- Ensure Marketing has timely samples
Qualifications
- 7+ years of jewelry production experience (required)
- Deep expertise in handcrafted, beaded, or fine jewelry production
- Strong domestic and international factory network
- Proven cost negotiation experience
- Expert in ApparelMagic, JOOR, Shopify, 3PL integrations
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks
- Advanced Excel proficiency
- Highly detail-oriented and process-driven
- Data-driven decision maker
- Clear, proactive communicator
- Ability to manage multiple seasonal production cycles
