    Site EHS Manager

    Position Summary

    The Site EHS Manager develops, implements, and monitors company environmental health and safety (EH&S) programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations. The Site EHS Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams, management, and regulatory agencies to maintain and enhance the site's environmental, health, and safety standards. This position is essential to the health of our employees and our company and will be responsible for regular audits, training, and coaching on best practices across all levels.

    EHS Program Development:


    • Develop and implement comprehensive EHS programs to ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and ISO regulations.


    • Design strategies to continuously improve safety performance and foster a safety culture within the manufacturing site.


    • Coordinate and execute corrective and preventative action plans to close any gaps found through internal and external auditing programs.


    • Develop and implement sustainability initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of manufacturing operations. Set and track sustainability goals related to energy consumption, waste reduction, and resource efficiency.

    Risk Assessment and Hazard Identification:


    • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards in the workplace and implement measures to control and mitigate identified risks.


    • Continuously monitor production activities for adherence to safety practices.


    • Create and update safety policies and procedures in alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.


    • Communicate and train employees on safety protocols and emergency procedures.


    • Lead and oversee investigations of workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses and analyze root causes and develop corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurrence.

    Regulatory Compliance:


    • Manage environmental compliance, ensuring adherence to air and water quality standards, waste management regulations, etc.


    • Maintain and execute site compliance calendar.


    • Oversee OSHA reporting and recordkeeping requirements.


    • Manage the implementation and maintenance of ISO14001 and ISO45001 certification requirements, including internal and external audits and assessments.

    Training and Education:


    • Organize and lead Safety Team meetings to build safety leadership in other parts of the organization and focus efforts on site wide initiatives.


    • Develop and maintain emergency response plans to address various scenarios, including fires, chemical spills, and natural disasters.


    • Conduct regular drills to ensure preparedness and effectiveness of response plans. Continuous Improvement, Metrics, and Reporting:


    • Lead initiatives to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities in EHS, environmental compliance, sustainability processes, and ISO certification.


    • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and report on the effectiveness of EHS and sustainability programs.


    • Provide regular reports to management on safety performance, environmental compliance, sustainability achievements, and ISO certification status.

    Qualifications:


    • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science or related field; or 3+ years of related experience.


    • Professional certification in EHS (e.g., CSP, CIH) is highly desirable.


    • Working knowledge of ISO Environmental Management System) and ISO45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management System) certification processes.


    • At least 3 years of experience in EHS leadership roles within a manufacturing environment.


    • In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal EHS regulations, environmental compliance, sustainability practices, and ISO standards.


    • Broad knowledge of the methods and practices for conducting accident and workplace safety audits and investigations.


    • Thorough knowledge of practices and methods for developing and administering a comprehensive EH&S program, including designing employee EH&S training programs.


    • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
