    YOUR ROLE IN OUR MISSION

    This position will directly support the Executive Administrator and serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering policies, and helping resolve work-related matters. The HR Manager will lead efforts that maintain and enhance the church's human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resource policies, programs, and practices.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Advise managers on organizational policy matters.
    • Plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of direct staff.
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of competitive pay and benefit structure.
    • Negotiate group health coverage rates with insurers and coordinate activities with retirement advisors.
    • Manage open enrollment, qualifying event changes, and claims.
    • Develop and manage annual budget for Human Resource Department. Monitors budget on a weekly/monthly basis to ensure compliance with objectives.
    • Understand and implement policies and practices to support labor and employment laws.
    • Ensure that we operate in compliance to avoid complaints based on unfair employment practices, unsafe working conditions and general dissatisfaction with working conditions.
    • Be well-versed on federal and state employment laws such as Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 (ADEA), Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and many other rules and regulations.
    • Work to strengthen the employer-employee relationship through measuring job satisfaction, employee engagement and resolving workplace conflict.
    • Assist supervisors in developing performance management tools to maximize employee strengths and weaken areas for improvement.
    • Provide employees with the tools necessary for their success which may include extensive orientation training, leadership training, and lunch and learn series, professional development, tuition assistance programs, etc.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
    • 7 - 10 years of human resource management experience required.
    • 7 - 10 years proven leadership of one's self and leading a team required.
    • SHRM-CP or PHR a plus.
    • Experience with Paylocity HRIS is preferred.

    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
    • Ability to speak effectively before small and large groups.
    • Ability to effectively read, interpret, and present information to top management, the congregation, volunteers, and the community.
    • Knowledge of word processing, desktop publishing, and spreadsheets. Ability to operate personal computer, calculator, copy and fax machines, etc. Ability to work in basic math functions and calculate amounts, sizes or other measurements. This includes core concepts like addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and decimals.

    • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

    Salary Description

    $75,000-$80,000
