    BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    Food Service worker in the areas of: cashier, cafeteria server, patient trayline, porter/dishwasher, and relief.

    • Food Service Supervisor
    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    Supervisory Responsibilities: NO

    Minimum Education: High School Diploma/GED

    Degree: General

    License/Certification Required: None

    Minimum Work Experience: Food Services or related experience preferred.

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
    • Good communication skills, ability to read and write, attention to detail, fiscal responsibility, good follow-through skills, basic math skills, customer service focus.
    • Individuals hired as a Porter under this title, have physical requirement of "C"; all other positions are "B".
    • Must be willing to shave beard or wear beard guard.
    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Works quickly, efficiently and accurately when performing all duties, including trayline, use of chemicals, trash handling.
    • Works in a timely manner to ensure timeliness and punctuality of trayline, deliveries, and cafeteria openings.
    • Stores and handles food and dishes in a safe and sanitary manner in accordance with health regulations.
    • Prepares assigned food items correctly.
    • Cashier - operates cash register and ensures charges are accurate.
    • Answers telephone politely and takes detailed messages accurately.
    • Keeps work area and equipment clean, following all departmental and equipment guidelines and using correct procedures.
    • Communicates essential information to others, such as the cafeteria menu line and telephone messages in a timely manner.
    • Demonstrates teamwork and the spirit of cooperation at all times. Volunteers to assist others.
    • Willingly accepts any other assignment that may be requested.
    • Cashier - accurately handles cash.
    • Maintains accurate and timely inventory within assigned responsibility.
    • Utilizes hospital resources and time respectfully and accountably. Manages time efficiently and is always contributing while on the job.
    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS-Note: Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
    • Heavy lifting, pushing and pulling is required up to 50 lbs occasionally, 20-30 lbs frequently and 10 lbs constantly to move objects of up to 150 lbs. Sudden emergency situations have the potential for exposure to lifting or moving of up to 150 lbs. Frequent bending, walking, sitting, squatting, reaching, and stnding are required. Keyboard/computer use and/or repetitive motions may be required.
