    SummitET is seeking a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Subject Matter Expert with SECRET clearance to be responsible for assisting in developing, coordinating, and supporting a wide range of programmatic tasks necessary to coordinate U.S. Government interagency engagements with priority foreign nations to build and enhance their capabilities to respond in the event of CBRN incidents. This individual shall possess first-hand experience with disaster response operations including those related to CBRN materials and shall coordinate U.S. Government response resources to prepare for and respond to a catastrophic international CBRN event. This position supports the Office of Weapons of Mass Destruction Terrorism (WMDT) within the U.S. Department of State onsite in the Washington, DC region.

    Location: U.S. Department of State onsite in the Washington, DC region.

    Duties:
    • Assist in developing and refining Department of State and interagency CBRN response plans, policies, and procedures through the support of facilitated scenario-driven workshops, tabletop exercises, field exercises, and other exercise events.
    • Assist in the planning, organizing, conducting, and reporting the results of exercises and other events as designated.
    • Provide CBRN technical expertise, doctrinal and planning support, consequences of execution assessments, and CBRN hazard prediction analysis capabilities to determine worst-case and most likely effects. Assist with crisis action planning in developing courses of action for resolving CBRN situations.
    • Manage geographically focused country engagement portfolios, responsibility for managing all engagements, developing project schedules, coordinating activities, and facilitating the implementation of a 3-5 year plan.
    • Support critical research and analysis of current and developing strategic objectives
    • Possess strong writing skills and experience in analysis, research, and strategy development.
    • Provide support for facilitating interagency communications, training, and aiding the team to ensure cohesive, effective, and efficient responses to CBRN accidents and incidents across other government agencies.
    • Assist in developing, coordinating, and supporting engagement efforts with the DOS, interagency, and foreign partners, including briefing the senior leadership.
    • The candidate will be expected to frequently travel abroad as part of their work duties (25% travel).
    Required Qualifications:
    • S. or B.A. degree and ten (10) or more years' of experience in disaster response operations, with 5 or more years' experience related to CBRN response operations.
    • A minimum of seven (7) years' experience in managing complex technical efforts, including the facilitation and design experience with terrorism-related exercises at the international level, is preferred.
    Security Requirements: Secret clearance required with ability to obtain Top Secret with SCI
