Job DescriptionSMS Staffing Inc. is Hiring ImmediatelyJob Title: Machine OperatorJob Location: Columbia, ILJob Type: Temp to HireShift Structure: 2nd Shift. Monday-Thursday 4:00 PM to 2:45 AM. About the Role:The Machine Operator is responsible for performing various tasks to set up, operate, monitor troubleshooting, and perform preventive maintenance on assigned machines. The Machine Operator is also responsible for inspecting parts to specifications and adjusting, or tool changes as necessary to maintain quality specifications.Duties and Responsibilities of the Machine Operator.

Review work orders (written or verbal)
Set up, test, and adjust machines using gauges and hand tools.
Load workpieces into machines.
Start, monitor, and record operation data on machines.
Know how to change overs.

Physical Demand of the Machine Operator.

Regularly required to use a finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk to hear.
Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50 lbs. Occasionally lift and/or more objects that weigh more than 100 lbs.
Frequency required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Occasionally, required to sit and climb or balance.
Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.

Requirements

The Machine Operator must be able to read and understand job requirements and material specifications.
Desirable experience of 6 months.
