    American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Lexington, Kentucky.

    Job Description


    American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU/MS float position with a neuro focus, requiring Epic proficiency and EMU monitoring training for epilepsy patients.

    Responsibilities

    • Combined PCU and Medical-Surgical unit in a hospital setting
    • Primary emphasis on neurological patients with overflow patient assignments
    • Required to float between the PCU and Med-Surg units
    • Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3–5 depending on acuity
    • EMU (Epilepsy Monitoring Unit) monitoring and patient interviewing involved
    • Epic EMR experience required
    • Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
    • Candidates whose permanent residence is within 100 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
    • Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 6 months before being considered as a traveler
    • All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of submission — RTO requests made after submission will not be approved
    • 13-week contract (14 weeks total assignment length)

    Requirements

    • Active KY or compact RN license in good standing, with no licensure hits
    • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
    • PCU or progressive care nursing experience required
    • Neurological nursing experience strongly preferred
    • Epic EMR experience required
    • EMU monitoring and epilepsy patient interview training required
    • 2 supervisor references from within the last 3 years required for consideration
