- Perform various duties in law enforcement including patrolling, investigating crimes, securing courtrooms, and ensuring all laws are upheld.
- Assist in emergency situations and be prepared for unpredictable and dangerous circumstances.
- Pass a Physical Agility Test for sworn positions.
- Execute vital law enforcement tasks including running, climbing, and physical interventions.
- Regular attendance is mandatory.
- Patrol assigned areas, respond to calls, assist with accidents, and maintain traffic safety.
- Investigate traffic accidents, enforce traffic laws, and handle hit-and-run cases.
- Provide security during court proceedings, manage prisoners, and serve legal papers.
- Process inmate paperwork, resolve disputes, and enforce facility rules.
- Research and apprehend wanted persons, testify in court, and assist other units.
- Instruct students on various topics, prepare presentations, and engage in community outreach.
- Ensure boating safety, enforce laws, and collaborate with relevant agencies.
- Work with K-9 partners in different scenarios, including search and rescue operations.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. No experience needed.
- Georgia POST Basic Law Enforcement Certification and Valid Driver's License required.
- Must pass agency's Physical Ability Assessment and have knowledge of law enforcement laws and procedures.
