    Description

    Hominy Southern Kitchen is seeking a motivated and hands-on Sous Chef to help lead our culinary team. This will be mainly a PM Sous Chef position with a 5 day work week and, 2 days off together. At Hominy we make every dish completely from scratch working closely with local farms and ranches to source our ingredients, shaping our seasonal Southern inspired cuisine. We cook a large portion of our proteins and vegetables utilizing live fire, charcoal, and our smoker. The Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef to execute daily operations, while focusing on grill and Sautee stations during dinner service. Candidate must be a rockstar line chef and a self-starter

    Hominy is located mid valley on the edge of Basalt, CO across from Willets just off Hwy 82. We have a deeply rooted professional culinary structure in our kitchen that promotes learning and continued growth. This is a challenging position that requires each member of our team to be committed to producing the best possible product and service with every dish, every day. This is a very hands-on position that will require the Sous Chef to be actively involved in every service worked. Knowledge of Southern Cuisine and live fire cookery, as well as bi-lingual in Spanish a plus.

    The Sous Chef will be responsible for:

    • Daily Prep and production schedules
    • Line checks before every service
    • Opening or Closing operations check list
    • Upholding sanitation and kitchen organization
    • Working service with culinary team
    • Trouble shooting all challenges of service and operations as they arise
    • Building and keeping relationships with food suppliers
    • Keeping the team motivated and moral up is a must
    • Must be able to work well under pressure
    • Must be a positive, productive, and contribute to the growth of the culinary program
    • We require a minimum of 1 year of kitchen management experience to be considered for this position

    Compensation –

    Salary of 65,000 -75,000 per year Depending on Experience

    2 weeks paid vacation per year with the option to take additional time if desired

    Quarterly Bonus Structure
