Job Title: Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
Location: San Francisco, CA
Job Type: Full-Time or Part-Time
Department: Clinical Nursing / Patient Care 
​​​​​​​Specialty Focus: Orthopaedics/Sports Medicine

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist providers with patient consultations and clinical evaluations
• Perform patient intake, including vital signs, medical history review, and documentation
• Support preoperative and postoperative patient care
• Conduct physical assessments within LVN scope of practice
• Assist with in-office procedures and treatments
• Provide patient education regarding treatment plans, rehabilitation protocols, and recovery expectations
• Administer medications and injections as ordered
• Perform wound care, dressing changes, suture removal, and phlebotomy
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
• Coordinate imaging, referrals, and follow-up appointments
• Support clinic flow and ensure efficient patient throughput
• Provide administrative and clerical support as needed

Required Experience:

• Recent hands-on, patient-facing clinical nursing experience, preferably within the past 2–3 years
• Experience performing phlebotomy, injections, wound care, and in-office procedures
• Experience in orthopedic or sports medicine outpatient care preferred
• Familiarity with preoperative and postoperative patient care
• Experience managing structured patient schedules and clinic flow
• Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) documentation
• Ability to work collaboratively with providers and clinical team members

Qualifications:

• Active and unrestricted LVN license in the state of California
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Empathetic, professional, and patient-centered communication style
• Phlebotomy experience or certification preferred
