    POSITION: Payroll Processor
    DEPARTMENT: Human Resources
    REPORTS TO: HR Manager
    FLSA STATUS: Exempt
    Summary

    We are currently looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Processor to join the team at Broward County Convention Center. The ideal candidate will be in charge of coordinating payroll for all employees while ensuring compliance with wage and hour regulations and company policies. This role calls for strong organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    • Process venue bi-weekly payroll for all employees with precision.
    • Collect and verify timekeeping information for all staff members.
    • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions.
    • Calculate and handle payroll deductions, adjustments, and bonuses.
    • Review payroll reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
    • Handle vacation and sick pay requests calculations and processing.
    • Maintain precise payroll records and files.
    • Calculate Union Dues and manage withholdings.
    • Assist in resolving payroll discrepancies and issues.
    • Address employee queries related to payroll.
    • Follow payroll approval procedures in line with Company guidelines.
    • Ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations at federal, state, and local levels.
    • Work collaboratively with HR and finance departments as needed.
    • Perform other assigned duties.
    Education and/or Experience
    • High School diploma or G.E.D. required.
    • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in ADP payroll processing.
    • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred but not required.
    Skills and Abilities
    • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Excellent data entry, basic accounting, and journal entry abilities.
    • Understanding of payroll laws, taxes, regulations, and requirements.
    • Capability to work independently and within a team.
    • Ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure, and pay close attention to detail.
    • Protect confidential information and handle sensitive data.
    • Proficiency in Spanish or Creole languages is highly regarded.
    Computer Skills
    • Experience in Excel including formulas and VLOOKUPs is necessary.
    • Proficiency in payroll software and MS Office applications.
    • Knowledge of spreadsheet software and word processing with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • HRIS experience, including ADP, Workday, and ABI, is advantageous.
    Physical Demands
    The physical demands of this position require the employee to sit for extended hours, handle files, type, operate office equipment, and engage in telephone communication. Specific vision abilities including close vision are also needed to manage office correspondence.
