Senior Data Analyst

This exciting analyst opportunity is part of the Claims Control Efficiency team. The focus of our team is to develop work effort standards for various claims handling processes. These standard times are utilized (a) to determine staffing need for half of the company (b) develop Analytics and pragmatic reporting that help assess claims handling efficiencies and the impact of process changes.

As the lead work measurement study analyst you will design and plan work measurement studies (i.e., understand claims handling processes and organizational structure, capture empirical data associated to work effort). You’ll also analyze and digitize work effort data to develop standard times for claims handling processes.


Nature of this job requires more travel (travel to various claims handling offices) than typical analyst jobs. Roughly one week of travel, 5 times a year at most; some of the studies may require travel on a Sunday.



Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Operations Research or Statistics or other related quantitative fields of study
* A minimum of 4 years analytical work experience in a professional setting

* Intermediate computer skills including MS Office with advanced skills in Excel (knowledge of spreadsheet functionality: v-look-up, pivot tables, charts, graphing and macros)
* Database experience including the ability to create PowerPoint graphs, tables and information reports in slide format
* Proven aptitude for learning and using data analysis reporting tools
* Strong aptitude and interest to develop programming logic (data extraction, summarization) preferably experience with programming tools like SAS and SQL
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
* Ability to prepare reports and conduct presentations with strong ability to communicate ideas and analysis results in a simple language
* Quantitative and critical thinking skills
* Familiarity and interest in statistical concepts
