- Conducts neuropsychological and neurobehavioral assessments for patients with neurological and psychiatric conditions, as well as general medical patients with psychological symptoms.
- Offers direct intervention focused on neuropsychological issues, such as psychotherapy and family therapy when necessary. Collaborates with professionals and family members for treatment consistency.
- Provides consultation on cognitive and behavioral rehabilitation for patients with neurological disorders like stroke, aneurysm, and brain injury. Acts as a mediator between psychiatry and other medical departments to create suitable treatment plans for patients with complex medical and psychological needs.
- Performs capacity evaluations as requested by physicians and prepares detailed written assessment reports. Offers clinical supervision to psychology interns, fellows, and other mental health trainees.
- Supervisory Duties: Provides clinical oversight to psychology interns, fellows, and mental health trainees.
- Completion of a predoctoral internship with a focus on neuropsychology and 2000 hours of post-doctoral training in neuropsychology within medical settings. Alternatively, equivalent experience, supervision, and training.
- Must hold a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in psychology from an APA-approved university with training in neuropsychology and psychopathology.
- California Psychologist License required within 6 months of hire. National Provider Identifier must be obtained upon hiring.
- Demonstrated experience with various neurosurgical, neurological, psychiatric, and general medical patients.
- Proven ability to work within an interdisciplinary team in a neurorehabilitation environment.
- Familiarity with social service agencies, state regulations, and ethical standards related to patient care and confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- If not licensed in CA initially, must be licensed to practice in the U.S. and comply with Business and Professional Code Section 2946.
- Capable of working in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
