    POSITION SUMMARY

    The System Director, IT Technology is a critical member of the IT leadership team responsible for providing technology thought leadership and direction, serving as the spokesperson for Health First's technology strategy and road map. The incumbent is able to create a clear technology strategy to support Health First's mission, vision and strategy. The System Director leads the IT organization's technology and engineering activities with a clear focus on reliability, affordability and innovation. The System Director leads a diverse group of engineering managers with overall accountability for application hosting (cloud and on premise), server, storage, backup, networking, collaboration technologies, mobility and client engineering. The System Director maintains a constant awareness of stewardship and fiscal responsibility, balancing innovation with proven value to ensure appropriate investment and fit-for-purpose solutions.

    The System Director leads IT planning initiatives to ensure that Health First's technology standards are incorporated into strategic initiatives and that service expectations are clearly defined. The System Director is also responsible for working with operational and IT stakeholders to integrate technology to improve workflows, reduce friction and eliminate technology barriers for our associates and providers.

    PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

    1. Accountable for all aspects of Health First's core infrastructure platforms; to include cloud, on premise data center, server, storage, backup, networking, telecommunications, mobility and client engineering.
    2. Develops and manages the annual operating and capital expenditure budget for IT engineering to ensure it is consistent with Health First's strategic objectives.
    3. Develops infrastructure performance standards and establishes clear performance expectations for the engineering teams.
    4. Works with application directors, operational and senior IT leadership to develop technology strategies that provide a highly reliable and cost-effective environment.
    5. Evaluates emerging and disruptive technologies to determine organizational opportunities for adoption.
    6. Works closely with the IT Cyber Security Engineering and Security teams to ensure all infrastructure systems are managed according to policy and industry standards.
    7. Implements processes and practices to continuously improve system performance, reliability and stability, and implements systems and structures to mitigate the potential impact of human error.
    8. Determines optimal "build vs. buy" decision for new systems and technologies, and oversees the design, development, testing, and implementation of new solutions.
    9. Leads and coordinates selection, installation, operation, support, and maintenance of our information technology infrastructure (i.e., operating systems, applications, networks, telecommunications, hardware, and peripherals).
    10. Manages key vendor relationships in partnership with senior IT leadership and Supply Chain.

    Qualifications:

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Education: Bachelor's Degree required.

    Licensure: None Required

    Certification: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Project Management Institute (PMI), Lean, Agile or similar certification required within one year of hire.

    Work Experience in lieu of Education: Ten years of experience within IT, with a minimum of three years of progressively responsible formal leadership experience (director or manager).

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
    • Ability to perform systemic, thorough problem solving and initiate problem resolution.
    • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work effectively with operational leaders, IT engineering managers, application directors and IT engineering staff.
    • Able to lead and manage with data. Sets clear and achievable goals and infuses a data driven culture through the IT Technology teams.
    • Experience driving organizational change with a keen focus on performance improvement.

    • Track record of leveraging technology in innovative ways to solve business problems.
    • Proven track record of successfully attracting, developing, and leading high performing teams.
    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Education: Master's Degree preferred
    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
    • Experience in healthcare or similarly complex industry is strongly preferred.
    • Proven experience with Microsoft Azure cloud platform.
