Job description

You will be the Mechanical Assembly Inspector for the production team. Our team is responsible for performing a variety of inspection operations on mechanical parts and installations, including completed systems, assemblies, tools, jigs, fixtures, prototypes, training devices, and detail parts across prototype, development, and production programs.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Mechanical Assembly Inspector you will be responsible for conducting inspections using visual, layout, and conventional measurement techniques and equipment to ensure that all mechanical components meet strict quality standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Inspecting mechanical parts, assemblies, tools, jigs, fixtures, prototypes, training devices, and detail parts
  • Utilizing visual, layout, and conventional measurement methods and instruments
  • Documenting inspection results and generating reports
  • Identifying non‑conformances and recommending corrective actions
  • Collaborating with engineering and production teams to resolve quality issues

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Basic Qualifications

• Working knowledge of machine parts, tooling section or mechanical assembly inspection

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Ability to work on a team

• High school degree or equivalent

• Must be able to:
o Read and interpret Engineering drawings
o Use precision measurement equipment
o Use computer programs such as Word, Excel, etc.

Desired skills

• Inspection experience

• Machined parts experience

Ability to work remotely
Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
