Responsibilities You will conduct scheduled health consultation visits at general industry and/or construction sites to detect hazards and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

You will submit written consultation reports, documenting alleged hazards, and formulating recommendations for corrective action to be completed within set time frames.

You will monitor corrective action dates, close consultation files, submit weekly paperwork related to consultation activities, and prepare other reports as required.

You will promote and assist with Outreach and Education training classes and programs that seek to reduce industrial accidents.

You may participate as a team member on Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP) onsite audits and serve as a representative on panel discussions for various safety and health professional organizations.

Minimum and Additional Requirements Minimum QualificationsA high school diploma and experience in environmental health programs or radiological health.

A bachelor's degree in the natural or physical sciences, mathematics, public health, engineering or a related technical field may be substituted for the required work experience.

Preferred Qualifications Successful completion of the OSHA Training Program plus one (1) year of experience in Occupational Safety and Health.

A bachelor's degree and twelve (12) semester hours in chemistry. Three (3) years' experience in industrial hygiene programs. Thorough knowledge of industrial processes and equipment in a variety of light and heavy industries.
Thorough knowledge of industrial hygiene testing techniques and equipment. Knowledge of applicable State health standards and safety and health hazards. Ability to work with computers, systems, and software such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in oral and written form. Ability to make decisions and interpret State rules and regulations. Other RequirementsMust have a valid driver's license and 10-year MVR that complies with State and Agency Fleet guidelines.
Must be able to drive a state or personal vehicle to complete assigned job duties.
Required weekly travel with possible overnight stays.
May require occasional work outside of normal office hours. Must be physically able to navigate an industrial worksite.
May be required to pass a medical clearance and fit test for respirator use. May be required to wear a respirator.
