    Patient Support Assistant - Cancer Center

    Location :
    Kellogg Cancer Center - Highland Park, IL
    Full Time | 40 hours/week

    Hours :
    Monday-Friday rotating open/close shifts, shifts will vary between Monday - Thursday from 6:45am - 6pm and Friday 6:45am - 5pm, no weekends or holidays

    Travel Required:
    May float to Evanston or Glenbrook locations


    A Brief Overview:


    As a Patient Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of our patients.

    You will work collaboratively with nurses and other healthcare staff to provide essential non-clinical support, maintain a clean and organized patient environment, and assist with various patient care tasks.


    What you will do:
    Provides front desk support to the front and back clinic team regarding patient concern
    Communicate effectively with nursing and medical staff to report any changes in a patient's condition or needs
    Arranging Lyft transportation
    Answers the telephone, directs calls as appropriate, and greets team members/patients in a courteous professional manner
    Schedule appointments/treatments
    Collect co-payments/outstanding balances
    Complete patient registration
    WQs- billing
    Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
    Check in and check out patients
    Verify insurances- OneSource
    Stocking office supply
    Promoting a positive patient experience through empathy and support.
    Maintains continuous Joint Commission readiness.
    Complies with HIPAA regulations. Identifies and supports patient safety and infection control protocols.


    What you will need:

    Education :
    High School Diploma/GED,

    required . Associate's degree in health administration,

    preferred .
    Experience : 1 year of related experience and/or training and p revious experience in a healthcare or caregiving role ,

    preferred .

    Licensure :

    Certification :
    Certified Nursing Assistant from the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH),

    preferred .
