- Front-line contact with customers regarding inquiries, new project design, planning, installation, and inspection.
- Manage maintenance activities for stand-by generators and landscape and pavement restoration work.
- Assist with infrastructure design, cost estimates, and project management of new residential, commercial, and industrial developments/redevelopments. Prepare and maintain field notes, measurements, and materials lists.
- Assist with forecasting, engineering calculations and analysis of the utility system, such as short circuit, voltage drop, circuit load balance and circuit optimization.
- Prepare reports of study findings for customers and review fence, patio, deck, and pool permit applications.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of GIS mapping and engineering analysis models.
- Lead engineering services, project management, and supervisory work for electric distribution, transmission, and substation maintenance and capital projects, including management of professional service consultants.
- Perform distribution system planning studies, analyze circuit loading, perform power quality and high bill complaint studies, assist in developing switching routines for load transfers and build contingency plans.
- Assist in the design, operation and use of the SCADA, GIS, and CAD software.
- Perform in-depth review of engineering plans and specifications associated with the distribution system of primary and secondary feeders, for feeding new Industrial/Commercial building within jurisdictional boundaries.
- Assist with the preparation and implementation of electric engineering budget.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Four plus years of experience working in electric utility operations or a related environment.
- Knowledge of National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) and National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects and operate within policy guidelines using independent judgment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interaction with various stakeholders.
- Respond to emergencies 24/7 and carry a wireless communications device, and participate in on-call rotation.
- Capable of moderate physical activity under diverse environmental conditions, lifting up to 48 pounds.

Description
If you are passionate about electric engineering, electric utility operations, and making a difference in the community, we have an exciting opportunity for you Seeking two dedicated electric engineers (a level I and a level II) to play a vital role in technical engineering services, design, planning, and management of electric utility work and projects. Both engineers will provide exceptional customer service to utility customers; collaborate with the electric engineering team to enhance electric utility system efficiency and reliability; and ensure compliance with City Codes, National Electric Code, National Electric Safety Code, and Municipal Electric Utility standard practices.
