    Job Summary:

    Under direct supervision, responsible for providing customer service to patients by scheduling appointments, performing check-in and check-out procedures, verifying insurance benefits and obtaining authorization, and providing telephone triage.

    Job Duties:
    • Greets patients, verifies insurance coverage and eligibility, reviews new patient registration and obtains authorizations.
    • Assists in the collection of copays and enters new patient information.
    • Maintains medical and insurance referral records and prepares patient charts; ensures test results are filed.
    • Handles and answers all phone calls and transfers calls to the appropriate departments as needed.
    • Manages patient appointments according to the physician's schedules and/or protocols.
    • Performs all other duties as assigned.
    Education:

    High school diploma or GED is required.

    Experience:

    One (1) year of directly related experience is required.
