    Job DescriptionInova Mt. Vernon Outpatient Rehab Center is looking for an Exercise Physiologist to join our fabulous and fast-growing team.

    This is a part-time position (20 hours a week) on a hard-working team who supports our patients and our mission each and every day The Exercise Physiologist 1 works on a multidisciplinary team to care for patients and develop comprehensive care plans of agreed upon goals.

    To achieve the optimal health status for patients this role administers or supports diagnostics testing to support diagnosis and treatment plans and participates in a community effort to support chronic disease management.

    May include evaluating patient responses to prescribed treatment plans, testing and procedures and develop ongoing plans.

    The Exercise Physiologist 1 works on a multidisciplinary team to care for patients and develop comprehensive care plans of agreed-upon goals.

    Administers or supports diagnostics testing to support diagnosis and treatment plans and participates in a community effort to support chronic disease management.

    May include evaluating patient responses to prescribed treatment plans, testing, and procedures and developing ongoing plans.


    Job Responsibilities:

    Develops exercise prescription and risk factor modification by incorporating comorbidities and musculoskeletal disorders, per established program (ACCVPR, ACSM, ATS, ACC, NASM) standards and guidelines, as evidenced by random chart review.

    Reviews and develops Individual Treatment Plans.

    Develops exercise and strength training programs, patient education, and behavioral health support specific to each patient to achieve optimal outcomes.

    Demonstrates proper instruction and technique for performing appropriate exercise and strength training as needed to ensure patient safety and adherence to exercise prescription, as evidenced by direct observation.

    Immediately reports significant changes in patient clinical status to appropriate members of the healthcare team and assists with emergency care according to department policy, as evidenced by direct observation.

    May perform additional duties as assigned.


    Requirements:
    Bachelor's Degree Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology or Kinesiology.
    BLS within 6 months of start date. Must be from the AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION.Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support within 6 months of hire.
