    Description

    Full-Stack Engineer (Robot Restaurant Software) at Mezli (W21) $100k - $180k 0.50% - 2.00% Autonomous restaurants that make great, affordable meals. San Mateo, CA Full-time 3+ years About Mezli Were a team of three Stanford engineers working with a Michelin-star chef to build autonomous restaurants that make healthy, convenient food more affordable. Even at our low price point (see ), our approach will let us achieve an order-of-magnitude higher ROI per location than traditional restaurants.

    We have a working full-size prototype in our San Mateo office and a growing customer base buying meals from our ghost kitchen. Now, we're starting work on our next prototype, which will be forward-deployable to locations where it will serve customers autonomously.

    **Summary**

    Were looking to hire a full-time software developer, ideally with front-end and back-end experience writing both web and mobile apps, to take charge of our user-facing software and its connections to the software that controls our robot restaurant. This will include both the touchscreen ordering, check-in, and pickup apps that live on-location at our robot restaurant as well as our web and (eventually) mobile apps for online ordering, loyalty rewards, etc.

    Youll be working with a team of one senior and one junior full-stack developer on the engineering side of things and a well-known UX agency on the design side of things. The UX agency is local; the developers are both part-time and remote but are both periodically in the Bay Area.

    Were still early in the process of designing and building our ordering and pickup apps so youll be helping us decide what to build, not just how to build it.

    **Our ideal candidate would have experience with the following:**

    TypeScript

    React

    CSS, including animations and transitions

    Responsive design

    Automated testing

    NodeJS

    GraphQL

    Writing secure applications

    **Nice-to-have skills include:**

    Accessibility

    Real-time app experience

    Kiosk/touchscreen app experience

    AWS/infra experience

    **Job details:**

    As a food robotics company, we have an in-person-first culture, so our preference is for you to be in-person as well. Youd be spending 2-4 days a week at our office in the Bay Area (San Mateo, CA), and 1-3 days a week working from home, depending on your preference. Were offering substantial equity on top of salary and benefits.

    Technology On the hardware end: we use all sorts of tools 3D printing, molding, laser cutting, welding, electronics, etc. We also send out for machining, cutting, bending, etc.

    On the embedded systems side: were running the machine on a custom ROS architecture with microcontrollers managing each modular subsystem.
