    The Onyx Research Data Platform organization represents a major investment by GSK R&D and Digital & Tech, designed to deliver a step-change in our ability to leverage data, knowledge, and prediction to find new medicines. We are a full-stack shop consisting of product and portfolio leadership, data engineering, infrastructure, and DevOps, data/metadata / knowledge platforms, and AI/ML and analysis platforms, all geared toward:

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Participate in the creation and improvement of APIs, learning how to meet the technical needs of our colleagues and partners.
    • Work alongside senior engineers to integrate APIs with various systems, contributing to the smooth flow of data across our platforms.
    • Learn to write high-quality code with a focus on automation and best practices.
    • Assist in identifying opportunities to streamline our codebase through reusable components.
    • Support the team with ongoing projects and contribute to team discussions on how to tackle technical challenges.
    • Help maintain our high standards for platform functionality, including monitoring and quality assurance.
    • Stay curious and up-to-date with the latest technologies and practices in API development and cloud services.
    • Engage in peer code reviews and collaborate in a continuous learning environment.


    Why You?

    Basic Qualifications:

    We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related discipline
    • Cloud experience (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, Kubernetes), including infrastructure-as-code.
    • Application experience of CI/CD implementations using git and a common CI/CD stack (e.g. Jenkins, CircleCI, GitLab, Azure DevOps).
    • Experience with one common programming language: e.g., Python, Scala, Java.
    • Experience in API tools and platforms, such as Postman.


    Preferred Qualifications:

    If you have some of the following characteristics, it would be a plus
    • Master's in computer science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
    • Experience with data modeling, particularly involving the use of semantic data and ontologies/taxonomies/business data.
    • Experience architecting, building, or managing components of an ontology or/and metadata platform.

    The annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges from $98,600 to $133,400 taking into account a number of factors including work location, the candidate's skills, experience, education level and the market rate for the role. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program which is dependent on the level of the role.
