    Macon and Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences at Old Dominion University fosters a dynamic environment that celebrates diversity, inclusivity, and mutual respect. As a Mental Health Counselor (Licensed), you will contribute to this atmosphere by showcasing excellence in your area of expertise.

    Duties and Responsibilities


    You will provide culturally sensitive and clinically competent outpatient personal and mental health counseling services on an individual basis.

    Maintain accurate and timely documentation that meets qualitative and billing standards while upholding confidentiality in accordance with professional standards, regulations, and laws.

    Collaborate with Student Health staff to manage students with comorbid health concerns.

    Participate in residency educational activities, including teaching, clinical supervision, and committee work.

    Work closely with Academic Affairs and Student Affairs to develop student mental health initiatives.

    Attend administrative conferences, in-service training, and continuing education programs focused on student mental health.

    Serve as a consultant for student mental health promotions or projects when requested.

    Requirements


    You must hold a Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field. A PhD or PsyD is preferred. Ensure you have the necessary licensure/license eligibility in Virginia.

    A minimum of one year of experience providing mental health services is required. Knowledge and experience with mental health issues common in graduate healthcare education settings are advantageous.

    Show strong communication and leadership skills, with proven diplomacy and flexibility in diverse environments.
