    Job Description:

    Demonstrated the ability to perform clinical/technical/service/administrative tasks: Assesses the quality and appropriateness of nursing care to ensure that the needs of the patients are met based on patient acuity, staff availability and qualification.

    Participates in the interpretation and implementation of Nusing/Patient Care Services and hospital policies and procedures. Plans and maintains staffing patterns for the patient care units to meet patient care requirements and staff competency. Consults with multidisciplinary team to coordinate delivery of care. Coordinated unit needs and collaborated with support staff by delegating responsibilities for maintaining a safe and clean environment. Provides direction during crisis and emergency situations. Participates and shares responsibilities with code team and coordinates between Nursing and other members of the multidisciplinary team.

    Demonstrates that knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients served in assigned area.

    Participates in the Customer's performance improvement activities. Maintains patient/employee confidentiality in the management of information.

    Provides a channel for inter-shift communication of pertinent patient care and administrative problems or situations requiring follow-up or specific attention.

    Contributes information to the Director, Patient Care Services in maintaining a system of review and/or evaluation of the staff. Participates in departmental meetings and on Nursing/Patient Care Services committees. Participates in the development of other staff members. Participates in the orientation of new personnel in conjunction with the Customer of Nursing Education and Research.

    Identifies education needs of Nusing/Patient Care Services personnel and provides education or makes referrals to meet these needs in maintaining clinical competency.

    Provides counseling to staff and participates in disciplinary action as necessary. Encourages professional growth and development of the Nursing/Patient Care Services staff. Participates in Continuing Education Programs and Seminars to maintain theoretical and clinical expertise. Meets regulatory, licensure, and annual health assessment requirements. Identifies learning strengths and needs. Utilizes learning resources. Demonstrates a professional, courteous, and respectful attitude in dealing with patients, families, and significant others. Displays courtesy, tact, and patience during interactions with all members of the hospital staff and extended community. May be required to perform other duties as assigned or perform other duties when necessary.
    Minimum of 3 years clinical experience and 2 years in a leadership position
