    Description

    Job Title: Civil Engineering Designer

    Salary: $105,000.00

    We are partnering with an engineering design and consulting firm in the Cornelius, NC area to provide them with a Civil Engineering Designer.

    Prioritized Must Have Skills:

    • Hold EI/EIT certification (PE preferred)
    • Have at least 2 years of qualifying civil engineering design experience
    • Be experienced with AutoCAD and/or Civil3D
    • No more than 3 jobs in the last 10 years

    Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with a small team through civil site/land development design, permitting, and construction observation on residential, commercial, and institutional projects
    • Develop strong relationships with team members
    • Design land development projects using Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D software
    • Prepare technical design calculations for land development projects (storm drainage hydraulic sizing, water distribution modeling, etc.)
    • Perform preliminary engineering evaluations, including quantity take-offs and opinions of probable construction cost
    • Conduct site visits and prepare associated field reports
    • Observe and coordinate various field testing (water pressure testing, gravity sewer low pressure testing, etc.)

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (BSCE) or Engineering Technology (BSCET)
    • EI/EIT certification required (PE preferred)
    • 2-6 years of qualifying civil engineering design experience
    • Previous experience with AutoCAD and/or Civil3D preferred
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • A strong desire to continue learning and advance professionally
    • Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record
