Then step forward and ignite innovation as the Director of Battery and BMS Development Our client, a pioneer in the EV sector, seeks a driven individual to spearhead the development of cutting-edge battery packs that are not only reliable but also market-ready with immediate commercial applications.

    In this leadership role, you will:

    • Guide a cutting-edge team: Lead a talented team of engineers responsible for hardware and firmware development of battery packs and Battery Management Systems (BMS), utilizing a configurable architecture
    • Champion innovation: Spearhead the design and evaluation of distributed BMS CMC & master hardware/firmware, including corresponding firmware for the master/control board
    • Market-focused approach: Translate product requirements into fully realized solutions, ensuring compliance with all necessary safety and regulatory standards
    • Optimize and adapt: Leverage product requirements and spatial constraints to enhance the configurability and scalability of the system architecture
    • Break down silos: Facilitate effective communication and data exchange between your team, product engineering, cross-functional teams, and suppliers
    • Forge partnerships: Collaborate with supply chain and sourcing teams to identify design pathways with partners and vendors, ensuring alignment with target specifications
    • Think big picture: Design battery packs that seamlessly integrate with diverse applications and power systems, catering to varied industry needs
    • Stay ahead of the curve: Build your battery systems architecture using market-proven technologies and maintain in-depth knowledge of key supplier/vendor product portfolios and roadmaps
    • Master the details: Manage and lead the battery system development organization, ensuring a thorough understanding of ground, CAN, low voltage, and high voltage harness amperage and thermal requirements

    Requirements

    • 5+ years in related field
    • Minimum 5 years managing Li-ion battery development teams
    • Extensive knowledge of battery pack and BMS components (sensors, connectors, control units, etc.)
    • Experience with EV energy storage design and eMobility applications (preferred)
    • Safety and compliance expertise (UL standards, etc.)
    • International regulatory design experience (battery packs and BMS)
    • Sensor/power electronics integration experience (non-specific architecture)
    • Design for Six Sigma certification (preferred)
