    Digital Lab Omnichannel Strategic Capabilities Director Job Description

    The AbbVie Digital Lab is transforming marketing at AbbVie, accelerating smarter healthcare, with a mission to transform the way we drive impact by designing and delivering the best insight-driven customer experiences.

    The Omnichannel Strategic Capabilities Director within the Digital Lab serves as a digital and omnichannel marketing strategy expert and strategic capability owner across AbbVie brands. They are also responsible for managing a team of Omnichannel Strategic Capabilities Strategists.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Owns above-brand capability building efforts, including ownership of medium-term strategy development/execution, and ensuring operational alignment with the broader teams goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining omnichannel and digital marketing strategies (Omnichannel Blueprints) aligned to the strategic imperatives of the Brand. Authored in close partnership with Digital Lab Brand Leads.
  • Serve as Strategic Product Owner for key Digital Lab Strategic Capabilities, examples below. This includes developing and maintaining playbooks, enterprise views, and roadmaps for the application of these capabilities into and across brands.
  • Omnichannel Blueprints (inclusive of Journey Design), Next Best Action (NBA) / Veeva Suggestions, Audience Management, Omnichannel Reporting / Measurement, Personalization, Content Velocity, Interactive Sales Aids (ISAs), etc.Consult into cross-functional working teams that drive omnichannel marketing aligned to the overarching blueprints of the brand. Provide subject matter expertise across digital and omnichannel marketing. Key teams include:

    Brand Pod Teams. Cross-functional teams responsible to drive omnichannel business as usual (BAU) for the Brand. Inclusive of the Digital Lab owned execution and other functions like MABI, Performance Operations, etc.

    Innovation Pod Teams. Cross-functional agile teams dedicated to develop and test a single minimal viable product (MVP) use-case meant to deliver impact toward a critical brand need. (Innovation Pod Teams are called Digital Brand Teams (DBTs) for commercial brands, and Patient Services Innovation Teams (PSITs) for patient services projects.)

    Lead a high performing team of Omnichannel Strategic Capabilities Strategists who are responsible for the management and oversight of omnichannel and digital marketing strategies to ensure capabilities are being effectively implemented across brands.

    Significant Work Activities -Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hour day)


    Qualifications

    Competencies and Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant digital marketing or omnichannel marketing leadership experience developing strategic approaches to drive growth, improve customer experience, and/or increase operational efficiency
  • BS/BA required in marketing, analytical or relevant degree; MBA a plus.
  • Deep experience with digital / multichannel / omnichannel marketing, including: websites, email, social media, mobile media, search, display, etc. Including measurement and optimization of these programs and tactics.
  • Preferably within Pharma, agency, or brand.
  • Experienced in developing strategic documents, serving as consultant and SME, running workshops, etc.
  • Success leading and motivating cross-functional teams to accomplish a common goal on aggressive timelines; experience leading or working within Agile, sprint-based teams a plus
  • Manage change to bring functions together around the needs of the customer and creating networked, connected teams that break down silos
  • High digital acumen, with experience partnering with analytics and technical teams to launch new or improved digital initiatives
  • Able to prioritize competing priorities to ensure deadlines are met and operate with a sense of ambiguity
  • History of delivering large-scale projects on-time and on-target to key performance metrics
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage & integrate input from multiple stakeholders
  • Inquisitive nature with a strong test & learn attitude with a passion for continuous improvement
  • Proven experience presenting to and influencing senior executives across the enterprise
