    Description

    Associate Degree Nursing – OB, Pediatrics, Medical-Surgical Instructor Position at Atlanta Technical College

    Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is looking for highly qualified applicants for the Associate Degree Nursing – OB, Pediatrics, Medical-Surgical Instructor role within the Health and Public Safety Technology division. This position is based at ATC's Main Campus, just South of Downtown Atlanta/Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, but teaching may also be required at the South Campus or other local community locations.

    Under the supervision of the Dean of Health and Public Safety Technology, the Full-Time Instructor for Associate Degree Nursing – OB, Pediatrics, Medical-Surgical must have a strong passion for effective teaching and advising a diverse student body. The responsibilities of the selected candidate include:

    • Demonstrating appropriate teaching techniques
    • Utilizing suitable testing and grading procedures
    • Effectively communicating orally and in writing
    • Preparing and delivering quality curriculum in classroom and clinical settings
    • Following approved curriculum standards and syllabi
    • Monitoring student use of resources and materials
    • Advising and counseling students
    • Maintaining classrooms and laboratories per management plans
    • Attending meetings, enforcing policies, and regulations
    • Assisting with student recruitment and job placement
    • Serving on committees and meeting qualifications set by the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG)
    • Contributing to reports for the Georgia Board of Nursing
    • Performing additional assigned duties

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Master's degree in Nursing (MSN)
    • Three (3) years of clinical experience in relevant fields
    • Good understanding of human pathophysiology
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
    • Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
    • Ability to work collaboratively and maintain confidentiality

    Certifications/Licenses:

    • Georgia State Licensure as a Registered Nurse
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Doctoral Degree in Nursing or Education
    • Four (4) or more years of experience in relevant fields
    • At least one (1) year of full-time teaching
