    Description

    The CGEE Department is a unit of the UAF College of Engineering and Mines (CEM), consisting of two undergraduate programs: Civil (CE) and Geological Engineering (GE). The CE Program has been ABET-accredited since 1940 and currently offers concentrations in Structures, Geotechnical, Environmental, Water Resources, Transportation, and Arctic Engineering, and Engineering Design and Construction. The GE program has been ABET-accredited since 1941, and provides students with the background necessary to mitigate geohazards like landslides, ensure safe construction at a project site, find and manage groundwater, and locate mineral resources. Opportunities are available for interdisciplinary research within CEM, the Alaska Infrastructure Development Center (AIDC), the Institute of Northern Engineering (INE), and with the College of Science and Mathematics and other UAF research institutes.

    Able to develop an independent research program with Alaska focus, ideally with an emphasis on frozen ground/Arctic Engineering;

    Integrate the mission and vision of UAF and and the College of Engineering and Mines into professional activities; and
    Integrate research and professional experience into classroom/coursework.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    BS degree in civil engineering or geological engineering
    MS degree in civil engineering or geotechnical engineering
    PhD in civil engineering, geological engineering, or closely related field

    Position Details:

    This position is located on the Troth Yeddha' campus in Fairbanks Alaska. This is a full-time, 9- month exempt faculty position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package .
