    Description


    The Junior Accountant is responsible for posting journal entries, updating financial statements, maintaining accounts receivable and accounts payable, and preparing financial reports.


    Duties and Responsibilities

    The essential job functions include, but are not limited to:


    • Process and code vendor invoices. Scan them through Laserfiche.
    • Manage Accounts Payable email inbox. Reply to vendors.
    • Establish new Vendor accounts and research Vendor statements when received.
    • Generate Cash Requirements Report for EFT and check payments and process payments.
    • Prepare Lottery spreadsheet for retail and import into PDI.
    • Download and import Vendor EFT Reconciliation APVR.
    • Process expense report reimbursements.
    • Perform monthly general ledger and bank account reconciliations.
    • Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed.
    • Assist Senior Accountant in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings.
    • Assist with other accounting projects.
    Requirements


    Qualifications

    The position requirements include, but are not limited to:


    • Minimum three (3) years' experience in accounting.
    • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), accounting practices.
    • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills with advanced Excel skills required.

    Education

    The position requires the following educational experience:


    • Bachelor's or associate degree in accounting, Business, or related field.
    • Or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.
