    Darigold is seeking a Production Manager for its Rainier team. The ideal candidate will be proactive and have the ability to make a significant impact in driving facility success. They should thrive in fast-paced environments, consistently demonstrate initiative, and excel in managing multiple rigorous projects simultaneously. The successful candidate will possess strong attention to detail and commit to delivering high-quality products.

    The Production Manager will report directly to the Assistant Plant Manager and be responsible for overseeing the production departments at the Rainier Plant, including Receiving, Processing, and Packaging. This role requires collaboration with Safety, Quality, Warehouse, and Maintenance teams.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide strategic leadership and guidance to Production Department Supervisors to meet individual performance goals and expectations.
    • Maintain effective communication and status reports with the entire management team.
    • Ensure superior safety, reliability, sanitation, quality, and regulatory compliance across all areas.
    • Sponsor continuous improvement initiatives and drive momentum towards successful completion.

    This role has a direct impact on the fiscal stability of the business and productivity of the business unit.

    Additional Responsibilities:

    • Prepare and conduct team meetings to ensure proper communications and updates.
    • Work closely with Engineering, Quality Assurance, Human Resources, and EHS staff to achieve facility goals and objectives.
    • Maximize yields, minimize off-specification product, and maximize throughput.
    • Ensure safe work performance standards are met.
    • Demonstrate excellent diplomacy and prompt intervention tactics in handling potentially disruptive personnel issues.
    • Serve as Subject Matter Expert in production processes and equipment.
    • Guide operations teams during periods of downtime.
    • Predictively, creatively, and decisively address production issues to guarantee swift resolution and minimal system or process upset.
    • Identify potential, sponsor, mentor, and develop supervisor subordinates.
    • Ensure effective employee communication, training, and compliance on quality programs, policies, and standards.
    • Analyze production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications and operating or production problems.

    Requirements:

    • Three to five years of experience in dairy, food processing, or similar facility.
    • Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
    • Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, OSHA, and Department of Labor operational standards.

    Nice to Have's:

    • Ability to troubleshoot manufacturing processes and issues analytically and systemically.
    • Fluent in Continuous Improvement Processes such as Root Cause Analysis, Statistical Process applications, and Standardized Procedural Development.
    • Demonstrates flexibility in moving from operational to financial disciplines.
    • Computer literate in PC-based applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
